AdBlue for inland shipping
AdBlue is widely available throughout Europe in bulk, in IBCs (1000 L) and in drums (200 L). Many bunker stations are able to offer you AdBlue along the main waterways.

For inland shipping, GreenChem offers two variations of NOx reduction agents, AdBlue and AUS40. Which one you choose is dependent on your ship’s set up, tank capacity and the route that you follow.
- AdBlue is a 32,5% urea solution
- AUS40 is a 40% urea solution
The difference between AdBlue and AUS40 is the percentage of urea in the fluid. The application can have differences, when using AUS40, your range before refilling will be longer. The same urea is the active component in both, and when AUS40 is used on board a vessel the SCR-technology needs fewer litres of fluid to reduce the same amount of NOx. Ships are often designed to use AUS40 and in this way the size of the storage tank can be reduced. Another significant difference between the two is that AUS40 begins to freeze at 0°C and AdBlue at -11°C, but, under normal conditions, a ship’s tank does not readily freeze. AdBlue is widely available throughout Europe, and AUS40 deliveries are normally performed in bulk based on full-truck or flexi-tank loads.
